Trump Reportedly Directed Staff to Increase His Media Presence to ‘Flood the Zone’ Before Midterms

President Donald Trump has been all over the media lately and it is all part of his plan to get his face and his message in front as many reporters as humanly possible before the midterms, according to a new Daily Beast report.
The Daily Beast spoke to two sources knowledgeable with the inner-workings of the world of Trump.
According to those sources, back in September Trump told Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Bill Shine that his message wasn’t being broadcast on mainstream channels enough.
So, they set up a media blitzkrieg to “flood the zone,” as one top aide put it.
So far he has called the Washington Post to slam Sen. Lisa Murkowski in wake of her ‘no’ on Kavanaugh, gave a solo presser to New Yorker report Olivia Nuzzi, and talked for over 45 minutes to Fox and Friends.
The one thing that hasn’t been going on lately is daily press briefings.
Back in the end of September, Sanders was asked about the scarcity of official press briefings lately.
While she did not say they would come to an end, she did say back then that it was better to hear directly from Trump.
“I always think if you can hear directly from the president and the press has a chance to ask the President of the United States questions directly, that’s infinitely better than talking to me,” Sanders said during an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. “We try to do that a lot and you’ve seen us do that a lot over the last three weeks, and that’s going to take the place of a press briefing when you can talk to the President of the United States.”
In addition to Trump’s hectic media schedule, the president has also been holding multiple campaign rallies each week providing plenty of free-wheeling clips for outlets to air.
