Trump Tweets He’ll Pick Gary Cohn Replacement Soon: ‘Many People’ Want the Job

President Trump took to Twitter to say that he will pick a replacement for Gary Cohn soon.

The White House announced the economic advisor’s resignation today amid internal friction over the steel and aluminum tariffs the President announced.

Per Bloomberg, Trump confronted Cohn on the matter hours before today’s announcement:

President Donald Trump demanded economic adviser Gary Cohn’s cooperation on tariffs in a meeting in the Oval Office Tuesday — asking Cohn directly if he would support his decision to move forward with the plan.

Cohn would not offer his support, according to two people familiar with the episode — and just hours later, the White House announced Cohn’s resignation.

Potential replacements for Cohn apparently include CNBC analyst Larry Kudlow.
