Twitter Ridicules Trump For Deleting His Pro-Strange Tweets: ‘Someone Is Embarrassed’
In what had been widely expected due to recent polling, former Alabama Judge Roy Moore handily defeated Luther Strange in the Alabama Senate Republican primary Tuesday night. Strange, an establishment conservative who had been appointed by ex-Governor Robert Bentley to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ old Senate seat, was endorsed by President Donald Trump in this race.
However, even though Trump stood by his endorsement of Strange and traveled to Alabama to campaign for him last week, many notable Trump followers and right-wing media outlets — specifically Breitbart — threw their support behind the far-right Moore, a man who lost his position as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court twice for ethics violations. Ex-White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, ex-White House aide Seb Gorka and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) — all fervent Trump supporters — campaigned for Moore in recent days.
Well, it would appear that with Strange losing and MAGA nation fully behind Moore, Trump apparently tried to hide evidence of his endorsement of the former Alabama attorney general as he deleted several tweets urging voters to turn out for Strange. As if no one would notice.
