A new report from The Washington Post documents a new claim that GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore tried to initiate a sexual relationships with a teenage woman while he was in his 30s — bringing the total number of accusers to seven.
Gena Richardson says that either days before or after her 18th birthday, Moore came up to her at the mall where she worked in Gadsden, AL. He allegedly asked her where she went to school and for her phone number, which she declined to give.
A few days later, she was summoned to her high school principal’s office while she was in class. It turned out she had a phone call from Moore.
“I said ‘Hello?’” Richardson recalls. “And the male on the other line said, ‘Gena, this is Roy Moore.’ I was like, ‘What?!’ He said, ‘What are you doing?’ I said, ‘I’m in trig class.’”
He asked her out again over that phone call, and she again spurned his advances, according to the Post. It wasn’t until a few days later where he found her at the to ask her out again. She “relented and agreed.” Following her shift, they allegedly met at the mall’s movie theater, after which Moore drove her to her car and gave her what she referred to an unwanted, “forceful” kiss.
The Moore campaign did not comment on the Post report.
