Two Window Washers Stuck on Scaffolding Outside 68th Floor of 1WTC (UPDATED)

Two window washers are currently trapped on a scaffolding outside the 68th floor of the 1 World Trade Center. The scaffold is currently dangling at an angle and a rescue operation is underway.

The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit is currently on the scene.

Update- 3:14 pm EST: The two window washers have been successfully rescued.

Update- 3:55 pm EST: Both workers have mild hypothermia, but they were not injured. They were trapped due to what was reportedly some kind of mechanical error.
