The Vice President is lawyering up.

According to the Washington Post, Vice President Mike Pence has retained outside counsel to handle inquiries related to special counsel Robert Mueller‘s Russia probe.

Jarrod Agen, a spokesman for Pence, confirmed the news in an email to the Post.

“I can confirm that the Vice President has retained Richard Cullen of McGuire Woods to assist him in responding to inquiries by the special counsel,” Agen wrote. “The Vice President is focused entirely on his duties and promoting the President’s agenda and looks forward to a swift conclusion of this matter.”

There have been questions surrounding the nature of conversations between Pence and former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn. Pence was reportedly kept in the dark about conversations between Flynn and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak about sanctions imposed by former President Barack Obama against Russia.

Pence has also denied that he knew about Flynn’s dealings with Turkey which resulted in Flynn netting $500,000 during Trump’s Presidential campaign.
