WATCH: First Look at Benedict Cumberbatch as WWII Codebreaker Alan Turing

Last year, Benedict Cumberbatch made the convincing transformation from Sherlock Holmes to Wikileaks’ Julian Assange in The Fifth Estate. For his next role, the British actor will be taking on another real life figure, this one of the historical variety.

In The Imitation Game, Cumberbatch plays mathematician and computing pioneer Alan Turing. The film focuses on Turing’s ultimately successful attempts to crack the German Enigma code during World War II.

And Cumberbatch is not the only familiar British television star to appear in the movie. In the trailer below, keep an eye out for Game of Thrones’ Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister), looking alive and well, as well of Downton Abbey’s Allen Leech (Tom Branson).
