Watch: Golfer Bubba Watson Strapped to a Golf Cart/Jetpack

Though he finished in a disappointing tie for 39th at the Open Championship in Scotland this weekend, Bubba Watson still managed to be the envy of golfers everywhere, thanks to a nifty invention three years in the making. In partnership with his sponsor Oakley and the Martin Aircraft Company, the two-time Masters champion debuted what appears to be the world’s first golf cart jetpack.

Oakley claims that the device, called the BW-Air, is capable of reaching altitudes of up to 3,000 feet at speeds as high as 46 m.p.h. Check out Watson strapped to the BW-Air in this video released by Oakley earlier today:

This isn’t the first time that Watson and Oakley have teamed up to introduce an advanced golf cart. In 2013, Oakley released Bubba’s Hover, a golf cart hovercraft which is able to, among other things, traverse over water.

The BW-Air is being made available for purchase in December 2017.  Pricing will start at $200,000, meaning we shouldn’t write the obituary for the golf cart just yet.
