WATCH: Here’s a Reimagining of Rubio’s RNC Speech as a Hostage Situation

On Wednesday, Marco Rubio phoned his RNC speech in and the spectacle didn’t sit quite right with some people. Finally, a crew over at Slate realized what his speech reminded them of and it wasn’t anything good.

There is a scene in the Hunger Games movies that shows one kidnapped character giving a speech of support for the dictator-like ruler he was once trying to take down. It becomes obvious to his former friends that he was brainwashed and tortured. The Slate team mashed up Rubio’s speech with that part from the films and the result looks like this:

Obviously, everything Rubio said on Wednesday stood in major contrast to his former on-the-record thoughts about Trump, but like his Hunger Games counterpart, he is now standing in front of the world to proclaim that he has gone back on his ideals.

Who’s next, do you think?
