WATCH: Here’s What Campaign Ads Would Look Like if Politicians Were Honest
Okay, okay, stop laughing. I know, an honest politician. Ha ha ha. But the group Represent.Us put out a video showing exactly how campaign ads would look if politicians were honest about how much they actually get done, how much power they have, and how much they actually care about what you think. Here’s that video, starring “Honest Gil” Fulbright:
Represent.Us bills itself as a non-partisan group aiming to fight “legalized corruption” in U.S. politics, and they’re running Honest Gil as a satirical candidate in the Kentucky Senate race because that race in particular is expected to be the most expensive Senate race in American history, and they want to shine a light on it to draw attention to the issues of corruption they’re protesting.
Represent.Us has other “honest” ads about health care and net neutrality, the basic message being that politicians care a lot about the people giving them money and not so much about what you think. Here are those ads:
