WATCH LIVE: President Trump Holds Joint Press Conference With Japanese PM Shinzo Abe
President Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will hold a joint press conference today at Mar-a-Lago. The presser will begin at 6:00 p.m. ET.
One of the topics that will undoubtedly come up is the U.S.-Japan bilateral approach to North Korea. Trump confirmed earlier today that Mike Pompeo recently spoke to Kim Jong Un and North Korean officials about arranging a diplomatic summit in the coming months. Trump has touted the potential meeting by expressing confidence that he’ll be able to negotiate for North Korea’s denuclearization and the end of their foreign aggression.
Trump is also likely to talk about America’s relationship with Japan with regard to trade and international economics. Multiple conservative congress members who recently met with Trump said he was thinking about having America re-enter the Trans-Pacific Partnership. While some political observers say that TPP could help citizens in the Midwest if America engages in a trade war with China, Trump recently tweeted his complaints about how the trade deal favors Japan over the U.S.
While Japan and South Korea would like us to go back into TPP, I don’t like the deal for the United States. Too many contingencies and no way to get out if it doesn’t work. Bilateral deals are far more efficient, profitable and better for OUR workers. Look how bad WTO is to U.S.

Other topics that might come up for Trump include his reaction to the Stormy Daniels saga, his lawyer’s secret connection to Sean Hannity, and his self-contradicting slams against James Comey.
