WATCH: Senior Ukrainian Officials Arrested on Live TV

Ukrainian senior official Serhiy Bochkovskiy was arrested on corruption charges Wednesday during a televised cabinet meeting.

Bochkovsky is head of state emergency services; he was ahndcuffed along with his deputy Vasyl Stoyetsky during a meeting of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers. Per Ukraine Today:

Bochkovskiy is accused of embezzlement connected to the procurement of fuels and lubricants for the State Emergency Service, which he has headed since April 2014.

…According to Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, State Emergence Service chief Bochkovskiy used a network of private offshore bank accounts in order siphon off state funds.

“When the country is at war and when we are counting every penny,” said Prime Minister Arseny Yatseniuk. “This will happen to everyone who breaks the law and sneers at the Ukrainian state.”
