Westboro Baptist Protest Blocked By Texas A&M Students Forming Human Wall

When students at Texas A&M learned that members of the controversy-courting Westboro Baptist Church were planning on demonstrating at the funeral of fallen soldier and fellow Aggie Lt. Col. Roy Tisdale, they went into action, organizing a human wall to block the protesters from making it into the ceremony. Fortunately, the would-be demonstrators, despite having posted their plans to attend the funeral, neglected to ever show.

Tisdale was fatally shot at Fort Bragg on June 28th by a fellow soldier, Spc. Ricky G. Elder, who then turned the gun on himself. Tisdale, who had graduated from the school in 1993, was laid to rest at Texas A&M’s Aggie Field of Honor.
