Where in the World Is Rob Ford? Not Chicago, for One
Rob Ford has disappeared. A week after announcing he’s going into rehab, no one knows quite where the Toronto mayor is. The only place we can rule out by now is Chicago, because Ford reportedly turned away after unsuccessfully trying to get into the Windy City.
People close to Ford know where he is, but none of them have publicly commented on his location yet. One Toronto councillor said that the public has the right to know, saying that Ford has proven himself to be an untrustworthy person and therefore “at the very least the city should know the city that he’s in for treatment, and with some verification that he is in fact being treated.”
Ford’s brother has said he’s checked into rehab, but did not say anything beyond that. The Globe and Mail reports that Ford attempted to enter the United States in Chicago, but ended up turning around. The consul general of Canada in Chicago said that Ford “voluntarily withdrew” his application to enter the U.S., and he “was not denied entry, per se.”
