‘Taliban!’ Fox & Friends Freaks Out Over Dire Threat Posed By Migrant Children
Fox & Friends is gravely concerned about the existential threat the U.S. currently faces by children crossing the border without adult supervision and expressly is asking its viewers to be outraged over it. Why? Because this could lead to the Taliban infiltrating the homeland…or something. No, for real, that’s the argument.
The U.S. southern border continues to be an unmitigated mess of undocumented migrants seeking refuge and /or a better life. Among them are many unaccompanied minors, aka children, who are entering without any parent or guardian supervision and, according to recent reports, are being flown to various locations to be with either parents or approved adult supervision.
The fact that many of these flights have occurred at ungodly hours of, say 2:30 AM has raised reasonable eyebrows among Biden critics, aka, Fox News hosts. Fox News White House reporter Peter Doocy asked Press Secretary Jen Psaki about this on Tuesday, and her glib answer about the definition of “middle of the night” only further outraged the ersatz outrage political media apparatus.
After a stilted but not entirely unfair portrayal of the complexities of the story, Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade summed it all up in bite-sized servings of anger for viewers to consume. Co-host Ainsley Earhardt noted how members of Congress in Long Island are particularly concerned, especially because of the MS-13 gang problems there, ostensibly because these undocumented children are eager to join a gang, one guesses.
“We can’t raise the world’s children, it’s impossible to take care of our kids and everybody else’s kids,” Kilmeade said. He then warned that a video aired of kids on an airplane was a “go sign to Central and South America, Africa, Norway, whatever, to come to our country.”
Earhardt then chimed in with “the Taliban,” suggesting that legally caring for unsupervised children … will lead to terror attacks?
Kilmeade continued with his harangue against the Biden administration’s caring for orphaned children. “You get in, you get flown through, you get a nice plane ride, you get put into a suburban community in America, light years better than your country,” he warned. “Now is the time to sell the house and send our kids to another country,” clearly talking about foreign families.
Suburban communities in America are being forced to deal with a few thousand orphaned kids. Real estate values are sure to plummet?
Kilmeade ended by calling out the Biden Administration for not understanding the “ripple effect” of caring for huddled masses — or children! — yearning to breathe free, and even mocked the efforts of, you know, looking after kids alone in a new country.
“They are not doing anything magnanimous to help these kids,” Kilmeade blustered (though one suspects the kids have a different take.) “I cannot see why the American people are not more outraged!” he ended.
Yes, the border is a crisis. And the Biden administration’s handling has not helped deescalate it at all, particularly when it dismisses calls to address it as “political theater.” That said, these are children who are alone. And the numbers coming in on these flights are relatively low. If American communities are unable to bring in children who need help, then who are we as a nation?
The Bible and teachings of Jesus Christ are often mentioned on Fox & Friends. I’m curious how Jesus would feel about this outrage aimed at helping tired, poor, and likely afraid children.
