Stephen A. Smith Argues Obama May Not Have What It Takes to Beat Trump for a Hypothetical Third Term: ‘It’s L’s All Over the Place!’
Stephen A. Smith cited the election loss of Kamala Harris to argue that Barack Obama could lose to President Donald Trump in a race for a hypothetical third term.
In recent days, Trump and his allies have floated the possibility of him running for a third term as president. Although doing so would violate the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution, Trump has claimed that there are ways to make it happen.
With all this talk of Trump potentially trying to run again, some have brought up the idea of Obama going for a third term, as well. Trump was receptive to it and said he would “love” to go against the former president.
On a recent episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith explained why he doesn’t have the confidence in Obama that he once had.
“Once upon a time, I thought Barack Obama would smoke him,” Smith said. “I’m not so sure anymore. It was Barack Obama that spoke on behalf of Kamala Harris. Michelle Obama certainly put forth her due diligence in doing the same. Where did that get them? They lost the popular vote, lost the Electoral College vote, lost every swing state, lost the Senate, lost the House. I mean, damn, it’s L’s all over the place!”
