Biden and Trump Clean Up on Super Tuesday as 2020 Rematch Draws Closer

Biden Slams Trump As He Celebrates 81% Win In Michigan — Campaign Addresses 'Uncommitted' Protest Vote

To no one’s surprise, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump coasted to big victories on Super Tuesday by handily defeating what’s left of their rivals.

Biden easily defeated Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) in all 15 Democratic primaries while Trump was on track to defeat former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in 14, if not all primaries.

The states in play on Tuesday were: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia.

Only the results of the Vermont Republican primary are in doubt.

As of this writing, polls have yet to close in Alaska, California, and Utah, but Biden and Trump are highly likely to win those as well.

According to a survey released last month, 67% of Americans said they are “tired of seeing the same candidates in presidential elections and want someone new.” Nevertheless, voters will get the same old same old in November. If Trump wins, he will be the second president to serve nonconsecutive presidential terms and the first since Grover Cleveland defeated Benjamin Harrison in 1892.

Unlike, Cleveland, however, Trump will be campaigning while on trial because he is under indictment in four jurisdictions. After losing the 2020 election, Trump falsely claimed the contest was rigged against him and he tried to overturn the results. He is facing federal charges in Washington, D.C., and state charges in Georgia over those efforts. Separately, he has been charged in New York with falsifying business records and in federal court in Florida for retaining government documents after leaving office. While his federal cases may be delayed until after the election, Trump is set to stand trial in New York this month.

Meanwhile, Biden has poor approval ratings and more voters have expressed concerns about his age (81) than Trump’s (77).
