Former President Donald Trump might have claimed to be joking when he told a crowd of rallygoers “I don’t care about you,” but President Joe Biden took it as a great content for a new campaign ad.

During Trump’s weekend rally in Las Vegas, the ex-president joked about some members of the crowd in his Arizona rally being hospitalized due to the extreme heat. On Sunday, he told the crowd who were also assembled outside in triple-digit heat: “By the way, isn’t the breeze nice. Do you feel the breeze? I don’t want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don’t care about you. I just want your vote. I don’t care.” He added: “[N]ow the press will take that, and they’ll say, ‘he said a horrible thing.'”

Indeed, the press did pounce, as did the Biden-Harris campaign, in a new ad that included just Trump’s words and Biden’s approval of the message.

At the same rally, Trump also joked that he’d rather be electrocuted than attacked by a shark and referred to those who stormed the Capitol on January 6 as “warriors” while baselessly accusing police officers of a “set-up.”
