Chris Sununu Draws the Line: ‘I’d Do Anything for Nikki Haley – But Probably Not That’

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu said he is willing to do anything for Nikki Haley in her quest for the Republican presidential nomination – except agree to be her vice presidential running mate.

Sununu endorsed the former South Carolina governor, who has become the preferred candidate of Republicans opposed to Donald Trump. The former president is expected to win Monday’s Iowa caucuses, but Haley is running a more competitive campaign in New Hampshire.

The governor appeared on Monday’s edition of Your World on Fox News just hours before the caucuses began.

“I was thinking to myself, wouldn’t you make a perfect running mate for Nikki Haley?” host Neil Cavuto asked Sununu after touting her surge in the polls after the governor’s endorsement.

“It’s not ’cause of Chris Sununu,” the governor said. “The media won’t pick the nominee. Chris Sununu won’t pick the nominee. The voters. What we’re really doing is engaging the voters to come out and vote and participate in the process where they have so much say in both Iowa and New Hampshire.”

But she may just say, ‘You’ve offered me the Midas Touch,” Cavuto said before envisioning Haley asking the governor to be his running mate. “‘I want you to be my running made.’ You would say?”

“Look, I’d do anything for Nikki Haley – but probably not that,” he replied. “That’s not my gig. I don’t think Washington– I don’t think Washington could handle me, Neil. I don’t know. I think I’m a little too hot.

Cavuto noted Sununu’s remarks echoed Meatloaf’s “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).”
