Donald Trump to End Media Blacklist
CNN reports Wednesday that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has lifted his blacklist of media outlets banned from covering his events.
A campaign spokesperson confirmed the change in policy to CNN’s Brian Stelter. “I figure they can’t treat me any worse!” Trump said in a tongue-in-cheek statement.
Among the outlets blacklisted by Trump were Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, Politico, Univision, The Des Moines Register, and The Daily Beast.
The Trump campaign’s change in policy comes after vice presidential pick Mike Pence signaled that he wanted the blacklist to end. “We’re going to have those conversations internally and I fully expect in the next 100 days we’re going to continue to be available to the media, whether they’re fair or unfair,” he said in July.
