‘Entitled White Guy’: Molly Jong-Fast Attacks Dem Primary Challenger Dean Phillips For Copying Biden & Accuses Him Of Ageism

Vanity Fair special correspondent Molly Jong-Fast went after Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) by labeling him an “entitled white guy” seeking to copy President Joe Biden in his primary challenge.

Earlier this week, Phillips announced he was challenging Biden in the Democratic primary, noting that the president’s age and approval ratings may lead to Donald Trump regaining the White House.

Some have criticized Phillips for running a campaign with many policies positions that are similar to the current president. Jong-Fast joined CNN anchor Jim Acosta on Saturday and claimed that Phillips had no popular voting base to support his candidacy.

“I think it’s ridiculous. First of all, talk about being an entitled white guy, right? He is a member of Congress. He served, what, two or three terms. He’s decided that he is going to run. You know, the rest of the party has gone behind Joe Biden and this guy has no has almost no policy differences between him and Joe Biden,” she told Acosta.

“He just doesn’t like the fact that Biden is 80,” he added. “You have to have people who support you. And he does not have that. And you hear these speeches, two empty halls. You see him, you know, surrounded by journalists and no fans like you’re not he’s not moving. There is no movement. There is no Dean Phillips movement. The few people who know who he is just think he’s kind of a grandstander.”

Biden along with Trump despite the primary challenge remain the clear frontrunners and likely nominees for their party’s general election candidate.
