Elon Musk Melts Down Across Series of Tweets Attacking Bannon: ‘Communist R*tard’
Elon Musk lashed out at Steve Bannon in a string of posts on X late Thursday and Friday, calling the former Trump adviser a “criminal” and a “communist retard,” among other insults.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO repeatedly accused Bannon of criminality, writing comments on X such as, “Bannon advocates crime, because he is a criminal.”
In another post, Musk declared, “Bannon is a criminal,” then escalated his language, calling him a “communist retard” and writing, three separate times, “Bannon is peak retard.”
The outburst followed escalating attacks from Bannon aimed at Musk regarding his spat with President Donald Trump. Thursday, while Musk and Trump were going at one another, Bannon called on the SpaceX and Tesla CEO to be deported.
“They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately,” Bannon said of Musk, a US citizen.
On Friday, Bannon said Musk is a “punk” who had shown disloyalty to Trump and his supporters.
“He turned on Trump. He turned on MAGA. But most importantly, he turned on the country and the American people,” Bannon said. “And President Trump had enough of it.”
Bannon has been critical of Musk’s influence in the White House for months.
Thursday, Trump and Musk’s war of words drove the news cycle with both men taking shots at each other online.
On Truth Social, Trump flirted with the idea of pulling Musk’s government contracts.
On X, Musk claimed Trump was in the Jeffrey Epstein files, which he said was why they had not been released.
Musk also took credit for Trump’s 2024 election and accused his former friend of being ungrateful.
Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy reported Friday morning that Trump was considering selling or giving away a Tesla that Musk gifted to Trump after the election.
