Elon Musk jabbed President Donald Trump on Tuesday, suggesting the president was no longer trustworthy after his administration concluded that the conspiracy theories surrounding convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were false.

“How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?’ wrote Musk to his 222 million followers on X. Musk also agreed, “100%,” to a user who asked him, “Will exposing the Epstein files rank high on the America Party’s list?”

Musk founded the so-called “America Party” over the weekend in response to Trump signing into law the “Big Beautiful Bill,” which Musk has opposed over its adding of trillions to the national debt.

Musk, who spent over 250 million to help reelect Trump in 2024, officially launched his third party on the 4th of July, writing in response to a poll of his followers, “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”

Trump raged at Musk in reply, writing on Truth Social, “I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – The System seems not designed for them.”

Trump added, “The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!”

Musk and Trump have been publicly feuding for weeks now, following Musk’s disavowal of Trump’s tax and spending bill. Musk went so far in his attacks on Trump to accuse him of not releasing the so-called “Epstein Files” because he’s in them.

Trump “is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” wrote Musk in early June. Musk since deleted the tweet, but has now made clear he plans to try and capitalize politically on the Trump administration’s conclusion that Epstein did not keep a client list and killed himself in jail.
