House Democrat Challenges Greg Gutfeld to Bench Press Contest — The Loser Has to Quit Their Job

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) challenged Fox’s Greg Gutfeld to a test of physical strength in response to Gutfeld mocking his bench press.

On Wednesday, Swalwell took to X/Twitter to issue his challenge to the Fox News host: a bench press competition with their respective jobs on the line.

“Here’s a deal for @Gutfeldfox. (Never heard of him til he spent 8 mins criticizing what I bench press),” Swalwell said in his tweet. “The deal: if tough guy benches more than me for 10 reps I’ll leave Congress. If not, he leaves Fox News. I’ll give Greg 48 hrs to accept, then I’m calling him GUTLESSfeld.”

On a recent episode of Gutfeld!, the host roasted Swalwell for his series of social media videos doing various physical activities. In response to a clip of Swalwell using the bench press, Gutfeld said, “With a bench press like that, no one will mind if you use the women’s locker room.”

At the time of writing, Gutfeld had not responded to Swalwell’s challenge. The representative did, however, hear from one of his colleagues in Congress.

“Eric, if you’re looking for a reason to leave Congress, I’ll be your Huckleberry,” said Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK). “I’ll take your offer or, whatever your max is, I’ll do for a minimum of 5 reps. You’re welcome to counter. Give my best to Fang Fang.”
