‘I Don’t Know the Situation’: Trump Dodges Question About Pulling Endorsement for Mark Robinson

Former President Donald Trump claimed he did not “know the situation” on Thursday upon being asked whether he would pull his endorsement of North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson amid the “black NAZI” scandal.

“Are you gonna pull your endorsement of Mark Robinson?” asked a reporter following Trump’s press conference in New York.

“Uh, I don’t know the situation,” replied Trump, before walking away.

Trump’s answer was picked up by Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign, which shared the clip on social media.

Trump’s endorsement of Robinson for governor of North Carolina came under scrutiny this month after CNN alleged Robinson had made a number of disturbing comments on a pornographic forum called “Nude Africa” between 2008 and 2012.

According to the report, Robinson referred to himself as a “black NAZI” and a “perv,” expressed support for slavery, spoke about peeping on women in public showers, and ranted against Martin Luther King, Jr. Robinson has denied making the comments.

In March, Trump praised Robinson as “Martin Luther King on steroids,” telling a crowd of supporters, “I told that to Mark. I said, I think you’re better than Martin Luther King. I think you are Martin Luther King times two.”

During a campaign rally in North Carolina on Saturday, Trump made no mention of Robinson or the scandal.

On Monday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) took to Fox News to claim that Trump had nothing to do with “the Robinson guy.”
