Maxine Waters Revives Her Fight With Jim Jordan: ‘Jordan Is a Bully’
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) rehashed her public outburst with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Jim Acosta’s show Saturday where she called him a “bully.”
“Jordan is a bully and he tried to intimidate Dr. [Anthony] Fauci. Dr. Fauci has more credibility in his little finger than Jordan will ever have. And yes, I shut him down because we did not need him, number one, disrespecting the chairman and then trying to bully and intimidate Dr. Fauci.”
The original outburst came during a House Select subcommittee on the coronavirus pandemic. After Jordan berated Dr. Fauci and Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), Waters shouted him down, saying, “You need to respect the chair and shut your mouth!”
She said her frustration with Jordan was due to him challenging what she called the “most credible human being on this issue of dealing with this pandemic.”
According to Waters, this was not Jordan’s first infraction of the committee’s decorum, “Every time he comes, he over-uses his time. He does not pay any attention to the chair. He knows that we only each have a few minutes, five minutes, to speak. He goes overtime. He challenges the chair. He intimidates.”
Acosta remarked, “It sounds like you’d do it again.”
Waters agreed, defending her remarks, “I had to say so that we could get back on the issues.”
