Michelle Obama ‘VOTE’ Necklace Designer ‘Cried’ Upon Seeing It In DNC Speech

The designer of the “VOTE” necklace that former First Lady Michelle Obama wore during her 2020 Democratic National Convention (DNC) speech on Monday reportedly “cried” upon seeing Obama wearing it.

Designer Chari Cuthbert told the Daily Beast that Obama’s stylist ordered the necklace weeks ago, but added, “We had no idea where she was going to wear it… We just knew that she wanted it.”

“I couldn’t believe it. Out of respect, I didn’t post it or anything, because I didn’t want to take advantage,” Cuthbert said. “It was surreal… I sat at my desk and cried.”

Cuthbert went on to tell the Daily Beast that Obama would be her “ideal dinner guest,” and concluded, “To see her wearing my necklace, it’s insane.”

Cuthbert is still selling the necklaces through her ByChari store, which are available in a range of styles, and sell for between $295 and $1,260.

“Undoubtedly our best selling style. Nothing spells luxe like something made just for you,” the description for the necklace reads. “This piece will grow with you, is always in style, on trend and age appropriate. VOTE your heart out and get it in the worlds finest metals.”

Obama blasted President Donald Trump in her DNC speech, declaring, “Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country.”

“He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet this moment,” she claimed. “He simply cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is.”
