Parkland Survivor Mocks ‘Parody of Itself’ NRA for Banning Guns at Their Own Event

Outspoken Parkland survivor turned gun control activist Cameron Kasky called out the National Rifle Association for banning guns at its own event.

On April 25, the NRA announced that Vice-President Mike Pence would be attending the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum on Facebook.

The pro-gun group then added this note: “Due to the attendance of the Vice President of the United States, the U.S. Secret Service will be responsible for event security at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum. As a result, firearms and firearm accessories, knives or weapons of any kind will be prohibited in the forum prior to and during his attendance. We will be provide a longer list of prohibited items in the near future.”

In response, Kasky tweeted out that “the NRA has evolved into such a hilarious parody of itself.”

Fellow survivor Matt Deitsch then chimed in, “Can someone explain this to me? Because it sounds like the NRA wants to protect people who help them sell guns, not kids.”

Kasky, who has been on the frontlines of post-Parkland advocacy efforts, previously told TMZ that while he doesn’t have respect for the NRA as an organization, the people who belong to the NRA are “just Americans.”

CNN also reported on Sunday, that in addition to Pence, President Donald Trump was expected to speak at the conference.
