President Donald Trump on Tuesday admired the cages in “Alligator Alcatraz” and fumed that former President Joe Biden wanted to put him there.

Trump toured the Florida Everglades’ newest migrant detention center Tuesday afternoon. He was joined by members of his cabinet — including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem — and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

At one point in the tour, the group found themselves in one of the halls that will eventually be used to house the detained migrants. The large space included countless bunk beds enclosed in metal cages. After one reporter remarked that the room was kept at a reasonable temperature, Trump bizarrely claimed that his predecessor wanted to put him in similar conditions.

“Hey, Biden wanted me in here,” Trump said as Noem and DeSantis laughed beside him. “He wanted me [in here]. It didn’t work out, but he wanted me in here.”

Then, Trump could clearly be heard saying, “That son of a bitch,” under his breath.

Early in the tour, Trump and Noem floated the idea of pursuing legal action against CNN for reporting on a new app created to track the movements of ICE agents. Trump added that the network should also be prosecuted for its reporting on the airstrikes in Iran.

The Trump White House’s official rapid response account quickly shared the clip of the president calling his predecessor a “son of a bitch.”
