Trump Adviser Issues Statement After Collapsing at Gala: ‘Took My Joe Biden Impression Just a Little Too Far’

Trump campaign adviser Alex Bruesewitz issued a statement on Monday after collapsing on stage at the New York Young Republican Club Gala the night prior.
Attendees at the black tie event could be heard gasping on Sunday evening after Bruesewitz began to slur his words, before collapsing with the lectern onto the stage floor.
Bruesewitz addressed the incident in a social media post on Monday, nearly 24 hours later, joking, “We are back. What a surreal experience. Maybe I took my Joe Biden impression just a little too far.”
He continued:
All kidding aside, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the exceptional medical team at New York Presbyterian Hospital. The EMTs, nurses, and doctors provided me with outstanding care.
Secondly, I am incredibly thankful to all the great patriots at the @NYYRC gala who swiftly came to my aid. A special thanks to Rep. @AndyOgles for staying by my side until the medics took me to the ER.
Lastly, thank you to everyone who prayed for me and sent heartfelt, thoughtful, encouraging messages. I feel truly blessed to be supported by such wonderful people.
(P.S. @danscavino, my bad for ruining your introduction. I assure you, the rest of my speech was going to be great!)
The New York Young Republican Club responded to Bruesewitz’s post, writing, “Praying for your swift recovery! We look forward to welcoming you back to the stage soon.”
The exact cause of the collapse remains unknown.
“I know that Alex is going to be fine because he’s a tough son of a gun. There’s no doubt about that,” reacted President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday. “I want to say hello to Alex because he’s a very special guy.”
