Trump Takes Not Subtle Jab At Pete Buttigieg Being Gay: Bikes to Work With ‘His Husband on the Back’
President Donald Trump on Thursday mocked former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg with a jab at his marriage.
On Thursday morning, Trump announced in the Oval Office that he had reached a trade deal with the United Kingdom. Although cars from the UK will be taxed at a reduced rate, the 10% tariffs — the minimum rate for all countries as outlined during Trump’s “Liberation Day” — will remain in place.
When the conference was opened up to the media for questions, Trump was asked about the administration’s plan to update air traffic control software nationwide. The issue has been under significant scrutiny after a brief outage at Newark Liberty International Airport caused days of staffing issues and major delays.
In his response, Trump attacked the previous administration — namely Buttigieg — for not updating the technology sooner. His attack also included a bizarre remark about Buttigieg’s marriage to another man.
“I was all set, before we had the rigged election, to give out a brand new, gorgeous system to one company that was going to do the whole thing,” Trump said, “one of the best companies in the world that you know very well — you know, there are three or four of them that do it. And when they took over, Buttigieg — who has no clue — you know, he drives to work on his bicycle with his, in all fairness, with his husband on the back — which is a nice loving relationship. But he didn’t have a clue. This guy didn’t have a clue; and he’s actually a contender for president, between him and [Jasmine] Crockett. You can have that party.”
