‘I Can’t Put Into Words’: Fox News Correspondent Reports Trump Rally Incident in Real Time, Says She Heard ‘4 or 5 Shots’
Fox News correspondent Alexis McAdams reported live as former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage at a campaign rally on Saturday afternoon amid apparent gunshots.
The presumptive GOP nominee was rushed off stage at his rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday after sounds like shots being fired echoed out. The former president was giving remarks to the crowd before the sounds rang out and he grabbed his ear, falling to the ground.
A live feed of the event from Fox News captured Secret Service rushing Trump off the stage and taking him away to nearby black SUVs. However, before Trump was removed from the stage he held his fist in the air towards the crowd as blood trickled from his face and reportedly yelled, “Fight!”
McAdams, who was on the ground at the rally when the emergency occurred, reported the following before her feed cut out:
I can’t even explain how quickly that just happened. I mean, he just was talking of showing the illegal immigration into the United States there on the graph. And then he as he was standing up on stage, we heard at least, you know, 4 or 5 shots. Then I saw, Secret Service to jump into action, and I saw local, and federal authorities move in. I’m going to show you here and just kind of step out of the way. You can see here people coming in with their guns drawn here, trying to figure out exactly what happened. Everybody kind of tried to get down, here on the media area and then in the crowd as well. As they heard those shots fired, people waited here for hours. We saw people up on the stage…You can see that they had some snipers. Right up here on top of roof, who had a watch on the crowd, for hours, making sure everything was okay from a security perspective. We went through security when we had to come in. I’m not sure exactly where those shots came from at this point. We’re trying to figure it out, but to hear that and then see the president fall down there on that stage, I can’t put into words.
