Trump Lashes Out at ‘Angry Little Man’ Bob Woodward With Flurry of Insults

It is fair to say that former President Donald Trump is not taking well recently published excerpts from Bob Woodward’s forthcoming book War.

Woodward is the Washington Post award-winning reporter most famous for his investigation into Watergate and has written extensively about nearly every president since — typically gaining behind-the-scenes access in the West Wing, which sitting presidents often come to regret, like former President Trump, for example.

His new book focuses on President Joe Biden’s administration amid a myriad of foreign policy challenges, especially surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine at the direction of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Some CNN intrepid reporters received an advance copy of the book. They dished on several stunning details, not least of which is the alleged revelation that Trump has had “as many as seven” private phone calls with Putin since he left the White House in January 2021. There are far more bonkers particulars reported, as well, but the Trump-related content appears to have elected a fiery response from Team Trump via a statement released by his Communications Director, Steven Cheung.

The statement insists that the stories reported are “made up” and as if trying to show evidence that there is no case behind that allegation, the statement immediately pivots to insulting Woodward as a “truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Woodward is also described as “an angry, little man” as well as “a total sleazebag who has lost it mentally, and he’s slow, lethargic, incompetent and overall a boring person with no personality.”  Of course, one might think of that old adage “the stronger the argument, the weaker the case.”

Trump Campaign Statement on Made-Up Stories by Bob Woodward

“None of these made up stories by Bob Woodward are true and are the work of a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Woodward is an angry, little man and is clearly upset because President Trump is successfully suing him because of the unauthorized publishing of recordings he made previously. President Trump gave him absolutely no access for this trash book that either belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section of a discount bookstore or used as toilet tissue. Woodward is a total sleazebag who has lost it mentally, and he’s slow, lethargic, incompetent and overall a boring person with no personality.” – Steven Cheung, Communications Director
