Trump Now Going After Haley and Vivek So Hard That He Said Something Nice About DeSantis

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump has lightened up his attacks against Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and even appeared to praise him, after it appeared that Nikki Haley (R-SC) was sweeping past the Florida governor in the Iowa caucuses.

The former president posted to his Truth Social account on Monday, condemning Haley for being a “Globalist RINO” now that she poses a threat to him, and claiming that “at least” DeSantis is “MAGA-Lite.”

Nikki Haley can never win in the General Election because she doesn’t have MAGA, and never will! Ron DeSanctimonious, at least, is MAGA-Lite. Remember, I think MAGA is almost ALL of the Republican Party. The days of the RINOS and non-AMERICA FIRST candidates are OVER! Nikki is a Globalist RINO, backed by American’s for Chinese Growth, the Charles Koch con job. It’s not going to happen for her, or DeSanctimonious! Vivek Votes are wasted, should come to “TRUMP.” MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!

The Des Moines Register reported on Haley’s four-point rise that had her nipping at Trump’s heels:

Haley, who has shown more upward momentum since the start of the caucus cycle than any other candidate, now sits in second place at 20%. It is her best showing in the Iowa Poll, and an increase of 4 percentage points since December.

DeSantis has fallen 3 percentage points to slip to third place at 16%.

Trump “started expending a lot of energy slamming DeSantis,” when the Florida governor appeared to be his chief rival, wrote NPR’s Danielle Kurtzleben. She added that DeSantis’ downfall with Iowa voters may be because “there may simply not be much room in this primary for a guy who’s so clearly Trumpist but isn’t Trump.”

Despite the dire predictions, DeSantis promised to remain steadfast in the state where he’s “banked his entire campaign.”

“They can throw a blizzard at us, and we are going to fight. They can throw windchill at us and we are going to fight. They can throw media narratives at us, and we are going to fight. They can throw fake polls at us, and we are going to fight,” DeSantis said over the weekend, according to CNN.
