‘What are These Guys Doing?!’ Biden Absolutely Outraged by GOP Ignoring Ukraine Aid Bill

President Joe Biden could not contain his outraged frustration over Congress’s two-week vacation and Republicans ignoring a foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Tawain that overwhelmingly passed the Senate last week.

Biden addressed the nation regarding the death of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, reported by the Russian prison service Friday morning. The questions quickly pivoted to a foreign aid bill that, in part, funds Ukraine’s military efforts to protect itself from invading Russian military forces directed by Vladimir Putin.

Despite bipartisan support, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has threatened not to bring it to the House floor for a vote because it does not include any border security measures — which he previously had claimed were unnecessary when shooting down a bipartisan Senate bill.

An unidentified reporter asked the president if he could get munitions to the Ukrainians “without the supplemental from Congress?”

“No, it’s about time they step up, don’t you think so?” Biden said exasperated. “To go on a two-week vacation — two weeks… and walking away … two weeks! What are they thinking!? This is bizarre.”

“And it’s just reinforcing all the concern, and almost, I won’t say panic, but real concern about the United States being a reliable ally,” he continued. “This is outrageous!”

Another reporter asked, “Are you more confident now that you’ll get the Ukraine aid, given what’s happened today?”

“Well, I hope to God it helps, but I mean, the idea we need anything more to get the Ukraine aid,” Biden replied. “I mean, this is in light of the former president’s statement that saying Russia, if they even paid their dues to us, go get them. Come on. What are these guys doing? What are they doing?”

Biden is referencing controversial statements made by former President Donald Trump last weekend in which he said he would encourage Putin to invade NATO countries that don’t pay their dues. NATO members do not pay dues.
