‘What Does Clooney Know About Anything?’ Trump Slams ‘Fake Movie Actor’ Over Op-Ed Calling for Biden to Step Aside

Former President Donald Trump took George Clooney to task after the actor called on President Joe Biden to drop his reelection bid.

Biden, 81, is facing an onslaught from allies who have expressed serious concerns about his cognitive abilities after his awful debate performance against Trump last month. Interviews Biden has conducted since then have also gone poorly.

Writing in the New York Times on Wednesday, Clooney, who held a fundraiser with Biden last month, wrote:

I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced.

But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can. It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.

The White House hit back at the actor’s remarks, suggesting that Biden has more stamina than Clooney because the 63-year-old actor left the aforementioned fundraiser three hours before the president.

Trump jumped into the fray late Wednesday night and actually appeared annoyed at Clooney. He wrote on Truth Social:

So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act. He’s turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. What does Clooney know about anything? He uses the Democrat “talking point” that Biden, the WORST President in the history of the United States, has “saved our Democracy.” No, Crooked Joe was the one who WEAPONIZED Law Enforcement against his political Opponent, who created the most devastating INFLATION in the history of our Country, who Embarrassed our Nation in Afghanistan, and whose crazy Open Border Policy has allowed millions of people to illegally pour into our Country, many from prisons and mental institutions. Crooked Joe Biden didn’t save our Democracy, he brought our Democracy to its knees. Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!

The Clooney op-ed was just the beginning of a tumultuous day for Biden. On Morning Joe, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she hoped Biden would soon decide whether to drop out, even though he has vehemently insisted he is staying in the race. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) reportedly indicated privately he is open to a non-Biden ticket. And Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT became the first Democratic senator to publicly call on Biden to step aside.
