Dave Portnoy Lashes Out at AOC for ‘Hypocritical’ Met Gala Dress: She’d Rather Do ‘This Sh*t Than Actually Help People’
After Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wore a full-length white designer dress with the words “Tax the Rich” plastered in red across the back to the Met Gala, Portnoy blasted the democratic congresswoman for her hypocritical attire.
“To wear that dress at that event,” he began on The Dave Portnoy Show with Eddie & Co. “I feel like AOC loves rubbing shoulders with famous people and like her date was a super-rich person and she’ll never turn down a fancy invite and then be like tax the rich, it’s just so hypocritical and disingenuous.”
“Wear like newspapers and stand on the side,” Portnoy suggested. “And be like tax the rich but don’t go in and enjoy all the fruits and benefits of the rich it’s just so disingenuous.”
“You think people are there to raise money for charity?” Portnoy said of the Met Gala. “They’re there to say look at me, I’m, rich. I’m famous. And [AOC]…likes that a lot. She makes decent money, she spends a ton on haircuts, she’s more about the storytelling and playing the game and doing all this sh*t than actually helping people.”
Portnoy argued that the rich are already taxed, adding that he pays “millions in taxes…a sh*t-ton in taxes.” But AOC wants him to pay more to the government?
“I don’t trust the government for shit,” Portnoy ranted. “So giving money to the government, which I think is one of the most wasteful spending organizations in the history of mankind, not democrat, not republican, doesn’t matter who. Wasteful, wasteful, wasteful. If it was my choice I would not give my money to them to spend it.”
Portnoy, a believer in trickle-down economics, also said he’s fine paying his “sh*t-ton” in taxes, but would rather distribute the money to charity or however he deems it would be of best use. But the Barstool Sports founder has no desire to give anything else to the government as AOC suggests.
“The amount of waste that goes into it when you have a lot of politicians who have probably never had a real job or run a real business or done things, it’s just f*cking wildly wasteful.”
