Mark Levin Demands to Know Why Republican Billionaires Aren’t Posting Trump’s $454 Million Bond: ‘This Is an Outrage’

Fox News weekend host Mark Levin said it is “an outrage” that no ultra-wealthy Republicans have come forward to help former President Donald Trump post a $454 million bond.

Trump is appealing a civil judgment against him in that amount after he was found liable in New York for defrauding banks and insurance companies. In February, Judge Arthur Engoron ordered the former president to pay the state $354 million. With interest, Trump owes $454 million, and possibly more.

Although Trump is appealing, he must in the meantime post a bond of $454 million. However, his attorneys told an appellate court on Monday they failed to find an underwriter despite contacting more than 30 of them. Given the amount, the attorneys said getting an underwriter is “not possible under the circumstances.”

If no bond is posted by Monday, New York Attorney General Letitia James may begin seizing Trump’s assets. The former president owns several prominent buildings in New York and other states, which would also be eligible for seizure.

On Monday, Levin expressed his dismay at the fact that no billionaires have come forward to help Trump, who is also a billionaire – though it is unclear how much he has in liquid assets.

“Why are there no Republican multi-billionaires offering to lend President Trump the funds to file his appeal in the outrageous case in NY state?” Levin tweeted. “Are none of them liquid enough to help or join with others to help? This is an outrage.”

Trump is facing a slew of financial burdens. In addition to the $454 million judgment, which could ultimately be reduced or voided altogether, he posted a $92 million bond this month while he appeals a defamation verdict against him. The former president is also under criminal indictment in four jurisdictions and faces mounting legal bills in those cases in addition to his civil attorneys’ fees.

Despite his legal woes, Trump easily won the Republican presidential primary.
