Trump Attacks His Former Attorney General Bill Barr: ‘Broken Man’ Who Was ‘Petrified’ of Democrats

Former President Donald Trump raged at his former attorney general Bill Barr for refusing to help with his election lies and bogus attempts to overturn his 2020 defeat.
On Thursday, Trump released a press statement screaming about the January 6th Committee’s ongoing investigation into him, now that they filed court documents accusing him and his team of a “criminal conspiracy.”
“The actual conspiracy to defraud the United States was the Democrats rigging the Election, and the Fake News Media and the Unselect Committee covering it up,” Trump whined. “Few things could be more fraudulent, or met with more irregularities, than the Presidential Election of 2020. They refuse to cover the facts.”
Trump’s unsubstantiated claims that the election was fraudulent have been shot down by the courts and by Barr, who has said the former president’s lies were “bullsh*t.”
Nonetheless, Trump continued to seethe thusly:
The evidence is monumental but the Unselect Committee of politically partisan hacks, and someone who had a steaming hot affair with a Chinese spy, hides the facts. Judges and even justices of the United States Supreme Court, are afraid to even look, as was the Attorney General of the United States, who was so petrified of being held in contempt or being impeached by the Democrats, which they were constantly threatening him with, that he was virtually a broken man who allowed for the systemic violation of election laws and other things to take place.
Trump’s jabs at the Committee and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) are hardly a surprise, though calling Barr “petrified” and a “broken man” marks an escalation of his disdain for his former AG. Of course, this comes as Barr is reportedly preparing a memoir in which he blames Trump for the storming of the U.S. Capitol, and suggests the GOP abandon the former president as they move toward 2024.
