Former President Donald Trump blasted Fox News on Monday, stating that the Republican base does not care about the highest-rated cable news network.
Fox has platformed Trump with greater frequency as the Republican primary has progressed in recent months. His only rival in the race at this point is former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who also served as his ambassador to the United Nations. On his Truth Social platform, Trump accused Fox News of giving Haley, whom he once again referred to as “birdbrain,” undue amounts of coverage:
Hard to believe how one-sided FoxNews is – What a difference from the past (Likewise The Wall Street Journal!). No wonder the Republican base no longer cares about them. It was all about Ron DeSantis, and now it’s the BIRDBRAIN SHOW, but the curtains are coming down on that one on Tuesday evening. MAGA!
The idea that Fox News has somehow turned away from Trump is belied by the fact that he appeared on the network three times in the day preceding his post.
He sat for an interview with the network on Sunday night. On Monday, he was a guest on The Story and Special Report. Moreover, Trump was also a guest on Thursday’s edition of Hannity. Additionally, he participated in a town hall on the network less than two weeks ago as Haley debated Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on CNN. Trump is also slated to be interviewed on Tuesday’s edition of Fox & Friends.
The former president has occasionally beefed with Fox News, which he called “a hostile network” in June during an interview with the network.
