Trump Sets Expectations for Conviction As Jury Deliberates: ‘Mother Teresa Could Not Beat These Charges’

Former President Donald Trump set expectations tremendously low in his hush money-election fraud trial as he addressed the media while the jury deliberated.

As Trump left the courtroom for a break, he turned to the same assembled reporters that he ignored on the way into the trial earlier Wednesday morning and lamented that “Mother Teresa could not beat these charges,” in yet another complaint about what he has deemed a “rigged trial.”

For the record, Mother Teresa was never charged with fraudulent payment of hush money to a porn star, at least that Mediaite has uncovered on her Wikipedia page.

“I would say in listening to the judges from the judges, as, you know, very conflicted and corrupt because of the conflict and very, very clearly, Mother Teresa could not beat these charges,” Trump rambled on. “These charges are rigged. The whole thing is rigged.”

“The whole country is a mess between the borders and fake elections. And you have a trial like this where the judge is so conflicted he can’t breathe. He’s got to do his job. And it’s not for me that I can tell you,” he continued. “It’s a disgrace. And I mean that mother to racing, kidnaping those charges. But we’ll see. We’ll see how we do.”

Trump concluded by hectoring on about the same stuff, blaming the Department of Justice under President Joe Biden for his prosecution.
