‘Carnival of Idiots!’ Fox & Friends Hosts Go OFF on Republicans Over Train Wreck Speaker of the House Vote
“Carnival of idiots!”
This is not the name of a new jam band music festival, nor is it the title of a podcast that focuses on the deterioration of state fairs across the country. It’s how Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade chose to describe House Republicans currently embroiled in an embarrassing bit of legislative chaos trying to elect a new Speaker of the House.
It’s been two weeks since Rep. Kevin McCarthy was voted out of the speakership by roughly a dozen rogue members of the GOP congressional caucus led by Matt Gaetz, aligned with Democrats who were not eager to throw their political rival a lifeline. Since then, things have been a shit show, with Jim Jordan leading the pack to become the next House Speaker, despite his reported key role in the events of January 6th and his refusal to admit President Joe Biden won the 2020 election.
Following a news report, Steve Doocy revealed that it appears that there are currently 10 hold outs and that Jordan will NOT get the votes needed in a vote planned for Tuesday, which both Lawrence Jones and Ainsley Earhardt agreed was “ridiculous.”
Earhardt then called on Fox & Friends viewers to vote out of office the members of Congress currently opposing Jordan’s bid. “Don’t forget this if you live in an area where your congresswoman or congressman, if they’re the ones that are holding out, don’t forget this when it comes time to vote,” she said. “Republicans need to unite and stick together. The Democrats do it beautifully, and Republicans, for some reason, can’t seem to.”
After Doocy reported on backroom deals over funding of Ukraine and Israel to help get Jordan elected, Kilmeade said in an exasperated tone, “What a carnival of idiots. It’s unbelievable.”
“The land of misfit toys,” Earhardt concurred.
