Carter Page Tells Hannity He’s ‘Been the Edward R. Murrow’ of the Trump/Russia Story
So this is a thing that happened this evening.
Fox News’ Sean Hannity welcomed on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page to talk about the Democratic rebuttal memo and Steele dossier. Considering that Hannity has been beating the drum for a while now about the FBI Deep State when it comes to the Russia probe, and Page has said that the Nunes memo vindicated him as it showed he was the victim of FISA abuses, it was hardly surprising that the interview had a friendly vibe.
How friendly? At one point, Page compared the Fox News opinion host to a legendary figure of journalism.
After Hannity asked Page what he thought about the media coverage of the Russia probe considering Page told the House Intelligence Committee that he has no information about Russian election meddling in the 2016 election.
“Sean, you know, in that context, I have to thank you because you have been the Edward R. Murrow of this whole process,” Page responded.
“The media’s gonna love that comment,” Hannity snarked.
Page went on to say that the press coverage has been “so out of control” before adding Fox News contributor Sara Carter and Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett to the mix, saying they were all like the “Murrow Boys.”
