Charles Gasparino Goes Off on ‘Idiotic’ Economics of Ocasio-Cortez, ‘Downright Idiotic’ Trump Comments
Fox Business Analyst Charles Gasparino is nothing if not a man of the people, the reasons for which were on full display Friday afternoon when he explained current market uncertainty, which Bloomberg Business Week has already labeled as the “Trump Slump.”
Gasparino explained the unsettled economic forecast to host Neil Cavuto by blaming idiocy on both sides of the political aisle for the current government shutdown amidst a stalemate over border wall funding.
Gasparino explained “some of the underlying volatility in the market, that investors believe the lunatics control the insane asylum essentially on both sides.”
He then hit the Democratic side of the aisle, noting the “raft of stuff that came out of the Democratic Congress today.” He questioned why anyone would give credence to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), saying, “This is a freshman Rep that barely knows where the Capitol building is.” He added, “She has no idea about economics. Just go back and listen to her musings which are idiotic.”
Gasparino then turned his attention to the White House, saying “then on the Trump side, all you have to do is listen to his musings on Afghanistan yesterday” which he described as ” downright idiotic.” He then clarified that Trump “thinks that the Soviet Union collapsed not because of its economy, which everybody knows, but because they invaded Afghanistan. Then he said Russia had it right. I mean, this is insane.”
So there you have it. Both stars in the current political spotlight are idiotic, which is why markets are uncertain.
