Former GOP Rep. Slams Republican Candidates Refusing to Say Trump Lost: ‘What a Bunch of Weak-Kneed Cowards’
During Wednesday’s Republican Senate debate in Minnesota, moderator Hugh Hewitt began by asking the five candidates if Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election. The responses ranged from “I don’t know” to “I do believe there was voter fraud at a massive scale across this country.”
Despite Donald Trump’s baseless allegations, the 2020 was not stolen from him. However, his hammerlock on the GOP has prompted many Republican hopefuls to publicly support his lie, either overtly or tacitly.
Former Republican Rep. David Jolly (FL) reacted in disgust on Thursday’s Deadline: White House.
Host Nicolle Wallace asked Jolly who should be in charge of the “de-radicalization” of the GOP.
“It’s those five candidates on the stage in Minnesota,” he replied. “What a bunch of weak-kneed cowards running for the Republican nomination in the state of Minnesota. And what a bunch of week-kneed cowards in Republican leadership on Capitol Hill and and in statehouses across the country – including my state home of Florida – unwilling to confront a leader of the party in Donald Trump who has excited and ignited the events we saw on January 6 and, Nicolle, who is ready to do it again in 2024.”
Jolly concluded by asking, “If they are willing to do that to gain power, what will they do to keep it? And I think what we saw on the stage in Minnesota is an indicator of what they will do to keep it, which is when Donald Trump says to the nation’s Republican governors, ‘Fix the Electoral College for me in 2024,’ they’re going to do it.”
