Doocy Asks If White House Event Celebrating Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Confirmation Will Be a ‘Super-Spreader’
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Thursday whether the Biden administration is concerned Friday’s White House event celebrating Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to the Supreme Court “will be a super-spreader event.”
“When the last president wanted to host a big event for a supreme court nominee here at the White House, some folks got Covid and then-former Vice President [Joe] Biden called it a super-spreader event,” said Doocy during the White House press briefing. “Is there any thought that tomorrow will be a super-spreader event?”
“At that point in time, vaccines weren’t available, people were not vaccinated. It certainly puts us in a different space,” replied Psaki. “This event is also going to be outside tomorrow.”
In response to Trump holding events announcing the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett and following her confirmation in September and October of 2020, respectively, Biden said, “When the president of the United States puts on these super-spreader events, you saw what happened when she was announced, all the people, including his family, thank God, they seem to be okay, all the people came down with Covid.”
