Ex-Fox News Analyst Ralph Peters: Trump May Be Crazy, But He’s a ‘Genius at Propaganda’
Retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, a former Fox News analyst, told MSNBC’s Ari Melber tonight that President Donald Trump is certainly very good at propaganda.
Melber brought him on to talk about Trump now saying he believes Russia is meddling in the midterms… to help the Democrats.
I’m very concerned that Russia will be fighting very hard to have an impact on the upcoming Election. Based on the fact that no President has been tougher on Russia than me, they will be pushing very hard for the Democrats. They definitely don’t want Trump!

Peters said people keep underestimating Trump as crazy, explaining, “He may be crazy, but he’s also a genius at propaganda.”
He elaborated:
“It plays to his base. And Trump is a master of the classic big lie. Don’t tell little lies, you’ll get caught. Tell big lies, outrageous lies, and repeat them again and again and reenforce them with these really simple slogans that we also mock. ‘Fake news, deep state, media is the enemy of the people.’ And it works because he repeats it again and again and again and again until his followers respond automatically. You say ‘Mueller investigation’ to a core Trump supporter, and he or she will immediately say ‘Deep State.’ It’s a form of brainwashing. And frankly, Ari, we are helping even by talking about it tonight.”
He even said Trump’s somewhat like Putin when it comes to propaganda and being underestimated.
Melber also brought up new reporting on Russian hackers targeting U.S. utility control rooms. Peters said Americans should be very concerned, especially “when we have a president unwilling to protect us, unwilling to take a stand.”
