Fox News’ Earhardt: Chuck Schumer Opposing Iran Deal Withdrawal After Voting Against It Is ‘Un-American’
On Fox News’ Outnumbered today, Ainsley Earhardt said it’s “un-American” for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to now oppose withdrawing from the Iran deal.
Schumer voted against the Iran deal in 2015, laying out his reasoning in a lengthy statement. This week, responding to President Trump‘s decision, he told reporters, “There are no reports that Iran has violated the agreement and to me, the greatest worries from Iran are not right now the nuclear side but rather what they’re doing in Syria, what they’re doing to arm Hezbollah with rockets, what they’re doing with ICBMs. To me, the right thing to do would have been to try and come up with our allies with an agreement on those issues and let the nuclear part of this continue as is because it’s not being violated in any way.”
The Outnumbered hosts talked today about the politics of the deal and the U.S. reactions, with Katie Pavlich highlighting Schumer’s past opposition to the deal.
David Asman, today’s #OneLuckyGuy, said Democrats and some Republicans need to “separate their personal dislike for Donald Trump from the effects that he is having in diplomacy, which are dramatic.”
And then Earhardt jumped in with this observation:
“It’s un-American, isn’t it? It’s un-American for Chuck Schumer to support one thing at one point and not anymore just because he doesn’t like this President. You have to think about the safety of our country. Imagine what our world would look like with Iran having access to nuclear weapons.”
