Fox News Host Says Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Should Be Time‘s Person of the Year For Mainstreaming Socialism

One Fox News contributor had a fresh face in mind when asked who she thought should be Time magazine’s Person of the Year.

Outnumbered discussed President Donald Trump‘s remark that he should be on the cover. “I can’t imagine anybody else other than Trump,” Trump told reporters on Tuesday. “Can you imagine anybody other than Trump?”

Reliable pro-Trump contributor Rachel Campos-Duffy said she had a “controversial opinion” on who should grace the cover. “I honestly think it should be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”

“The reason is because she came out as an out and proud socialist. And after that every single one of the 2020 Democratic candidates pulled their masks off. Because remember Democrats didn’t used to claim to be socialists, we all knew they secretly were, but now they have taken off their masks — Alexandria caused that to happen.”

Quick fact check on that bizarrely false comment: not a single one of the big names being floated for 2020 Democratic candidates has come out as a socialist. Even Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) self-describes as a “democratic socialist.”

“Our next presidential election will be honest election between free market conservatives and socialism,” Campos-Duffy continued, “and we can have an honest political debate for once in this country.”

Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), husband of Rachel (the pair met on MTV’s The Real World), disagreed with his wife on Outnumbered. He argued Trump should be person of the year: “It should be Donald Trump. Everybody talks about Trump.”
