Fox News Panelist Laughs Out Loud at Defense of Trump’s Call Pressuring Raffensperger
RealClearPolitics associate editor A.B. Stoddard laughed out loud Sunday on Fox News over Gayle Trotter’s defense of President Donald Trump’s call to pressure Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
On America’s News Headquarters Sunday, Fox News’ Mike Emanuel played some of the audio from the president’s stunning call to Raffensperger, in which the president said “I just want to find 11,780 votes” and pushed baseless claims about the election — claims that Raffensperger and his officer’s general counsel debunked during the call.
Stoddard noted how Trump isn’t talking about actual evidence, just things he’s heard on the internet, and said, “This is incredibly politically damaging to President Trump.”
She added it would be “very hard” for Republicans to defend this.
Jessica Tarlov said Republicans should be speaking out already and pointed to all the court rejections — including from Trump-appointed judges — thus far.
Trotter, however, proceeded to defend Trump by saying, “A.B. and Jessica don’t get it.”
Despite all the widespread denunciations of this call and the implications of what Trump was saying, lawyer and perennial Fox News guest Gayle Trotter dismissed it as just another instance of Trump being a “fighter.”
“The voters who wanted President Trump to have a second term voted for him because he’s a fighter. He’s a man who fights,” she said.
Stoddard proceeded to laugh out loud at that.
Trotter insisted that Trump was just “going to the mat” for his voters. Both Stoddard and Tarlov laughed as Trotter said this was “yet another opportunity where he understands the radical leftist agenda that Joe Biden and his administration want to push.”
